ÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ stands against violence and hate

ÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ (ÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳) cares about every member of our community and denounces Antisemitism and condemns all forms of violence in no uncertain terms. We disavow hate and discrimination, including but not limited to Antisemitism, and Anti-Muslim and Anti-Arab racism, which have been on the rise at alarming and disturbing rates this past week.

We know that many members of our community are affected by the violence overseas. And the recent threats of violence and rise in racism and intolerance, both online and locally, are eliciting emotions including anger, fear, hurt, grief, anxiety and pain, and causing many to feel unsafe.

For members of our college community who are experiencing distress, I encourage you to reach out to available supports. Students can access ÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ Counselling or Togetherall.com and employees can access the Employee and Family Assistance program (login to myÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ for details).

Those who need additional or cultural support can find a list of initial resources below.

ÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ encourages all affected students, staff and faculty who feel unsafe to take whatever actions they need to feel safe and supported. This may mean surrounding oneself with friends and allies. It may mean seeking support through ÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ services or external services that are culturally safe and relevant.

On campus, ÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳’s Safety & Security department will continue working collaboratively with external partners as needed, and monitor the situation to ensure the safety of our community.

ÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ remains dedicated to promoting a culture of peace, tolerance, and understanding in our college and beyond. Our intention is to hold space for one another’s unique experiences and our shared humanity. We will always stand against hate, racism, and intolerance.
